    Mapping Soil Life at Scale: 300,000 Nematodes and Counting

    In the Antonie lab, soil life is being uncovered at unprecedented speed.
    Within 18 months, we have now accumulated over 300.000 images of individual nematodes, and it feels like we’ve only just begun.

    Following a successful workshop in Prague during the annual CEN/TC 444 meeting week, we’re proud to share that our Chief Soil Officer Bob Klein Lankhorst has been appointed as the Convenor of Working Group 8 "Assessment" within CEN/TC 444 – Environmental Characterisation of Solid Matrices.

    Big News for Europe's Soils – and for Our Future!

    With a provisional agreement now in place, the EU is making a decisive move toward safeguarding one of its most crucial natural assets: the soil beneath our feet. The newly proposed Soil Monitoring Law, part of the EU Soil Strategy for 2030, lays the foundation for a harmonised, science-based soil health monitoring system across all member states. It aims to bring soil protection on par with existing EU laws for water, air, and marine ecosystems.
